SmartHub is an online solution for internet access to your account by computer or smart device, such as tablet or cell phone. Through SmartHub, members/owners have the ability to make a payment and view their daily energy usage. For more detailed information on SmartHub, click here. Pay By Mail
Members/owners may send their check, along with their payment stub (lower portion of billing invoice) by U.S. Mail to Nodak Electric Cooperative, Inc. P.O. Box 13000, Grand Forks, ND 58208-3000. Do not send a cash payment by mail.
Residential and small commercial members/owners who wish to inquire on their account balance, or make a payment by credit card or e-check via phone can use Nodak’s Pay-by-Phone. This is a practical solution for members who do not have internet access and can be used for one-time payments. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by dialing 844-846-2690. There is a setup procedure for the first call. To best prepare, make sure you have your Nodak account number as well as your credit card information or your bank’s routing number and account number, before making the call.
One Time Payment
Account number and name required. No account access and banking information is not saved.
A payment drop box is located in the parking lot across from the main door of the headquarters building in Grand Forks. Payments placed in the drop box will be posted by the next business day. Do not make payment by cash if using the drop box.
Payments can be automatically deducted from your checking or savings account each month. Members can enjoy the benefit of not writing checks, paying postage or mailing your electric bill, and there is never a late payment!
How It Works
Once you sign up for AutoPay, your monthly payments will be automatically deducted from your bank account on the regularly scheduled due date. Nodak will continue to send you a monthly statement for your records, and your proof of payment will appear with your bank statement. You may discontinue AutoPay at any time.

This is a program where monthly energy charges are levelized to avoid the effect of seasonal usage swings on the power bill. Our software calculates a moving average for each statement so your bill will only change slightly each month avoiding large variations and unintended surprises. This plan is available to members/owners receiving service under the General Service, Urban and High Density rates.
- Members who wish to participate in this plan must have their account current (paid in full) to be eligible.
- Member has to have service with Nodak Electric for a year.
- Any accounts receivable adjustments, penalties or other charges will be billed in addition to the levelized amount.
- Members/owners failing to remit the required levelized payments will be dropped from the plan without notification, and the account balance will be payable in full.
- Members/owners who wish to discontinue the plan will be required to pay any debit balance in full.
- Credit balances will be carried to the following month’s billing.
- No interest will be paid on credit balances.
- Nodak reserves the right to refuse the Budget Billing Plan to members/owners based on their payment history.
