Our facility at the corner of 32nd Avenue South and Interstate 29 is located in Nodak's service territory. It positions Nodak in a growth area in south Grand Forks. The 39,000-square-foot building consists of a 24,500 square-foot warehouse and 14,500 square feet of office area. A special feature of the building is the heating system. The office and line workers' areas are heated and cooled with a closed-loop ground-source heat pump, which uses 48 vertical wells as a heat source. The heat pump system is also on off-peak, backed up with a standby generator which also provides emergency power to the building. The warehouse area has underfloor electric cable heating which is cycled each day during load management control times. The mass of concrete and sand will hold the temperature through any length of control.
